One of the most talented watercolorists of his time, Jean Leyssenne passed away in 2009. From a very young age he painted in France, and throughout his military career in different and distant places. His gouaches are as remarkable. Brittany, Paris and Venice became privileged sources of inspiration where he worked in-situ.
Gifted in captivating the light of the moment, he loved the landscapes he painted over and over again without them ever being identical. He leaves behind an impressive oeuvre in which his amicable and charming bonhomie are reflected.
